Biography
Emma is a professional violinist in Columbus, GA. She performs regularly with Columbus and Lagrange Symphony and the River City Chamber Players. She teaches violin to private students in Columbus, GA where she brings quality lessons and a well-rounded introduction of music to her students.
Emma was born in Griffin, GA where she began violin at the age of 6. She studied and attended master-classes under Dawn Black, Matheus Canada, and Renata Jaffe. In grade school, Emma received numerous musical and academic scholarships and regularly performed at the renowned Spivey Hall at Clayton State University in Atlanta, GA as Concertmaster of the Southern Crescent Youth Orchestra. |
Emma attended Gordon State College where she studied with violinist
Dr. Betul Soykan. In 2015, she continued her studies at Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music where she completed her Bachelor's(summa cum laude) and Master's degrees in musical performance under Sergiu Schwartz and Boris Abramov, and performed in the Philharmonic under the batons of Paul Hostetter, Kellen Gray, and Ying Xu.
Throughout her career, Emma has performed with many groups including
Georgia Philharmonic, Georgia Symphony, Southern Crescent Symphony, Schwob Philharmonic, Lagrange Symphony, Columbus Symphony, Albany Symphony,
Schwob Opera Orchestra, Springer Opera House Orchestra,
Columbus Ballet Orchestra, Schwob Contemporary Ensemble, and the River City Chamber Players. She has also performed with many artists including Michael Bublé, Michael Bolton, Quey Percussion Duo, Ruslan Apostolov, Ina Petkova-Apostolova, Dr. Ela Tokarska, Boris Abramov, Dr. Henry Kramer, and Texas Guitar Quartet.
Emma loves performing as well as teaching students at the Koart Academy of Music in Columbus. Her passion is performing with groups for public and private events; and helping students to think critically so they may grow musically.
In her free time, Emma enjoys knitting, gardening, hiking, and fostering kittens.
Emma performs on Thomastik Infeld PI strings and plays a violin made by Justin Boone in 2016, Brunswick, Maine.
